The building blocks for having accurate and AGE APPROPRIATE conversations with children about sex.

If you are a parent or caregiver and would like to know how to speak to your children about these topics, this course is for you. This course will break down the often awkward, scary and intimidating topic into manageable pieces. Casey breaks down the elements that are needed to have appropriate discussions with children about sex and sexuality. There are tips for engaging in these often difficult conversations with children. Empower your kids When children have this information, and a safe adult to speak to about these topics, they are more likely to report inappropriate contact, or situations that make them feel unsafe soon after the incident. By the end of the course you will be able to navigate almost all questions your children may have about bodies, gender, puberty, consent, safety, sexuality and sex. You will also learn how to bring these topics up with your children if they have not started asking questions.

My Sexual Health

Casey Blake is an Edenvale based Registered Counsellor. She has a private practice where she has been seeing individuals for counseling since 2013. Her counseling interests include sexual wellbeing, sexuality, gender and working with people whose lived experiences are outside of society’s heteronormative, monogamous expectations. She is passionate about helping people think about ways to bring more authenticity, joy and pleasure into their lives. She is the creator of Tools for Having “The Talks” a series of workshops for parents and caregivers, building their confidence, comfort and skills in having age appropriate conversations with the children in their care. These workshops cover topics ranging from speaking about the body, touch, consent and relationships to sexuality. Her post graduate research has looked at comfort levels with sexual communication (Honours); and how young adults report their school based sexuality education prepared them for their adult lives (Masters). Casey has been learning about, and studying human sexuality for over a decade.
